MAY YARD SALE & JUNE OPENINGS
Morning ladies, just wanted to let you know that we will be having the YARD SALE @ our May retreat. Anyone who is attending the retreat will be able to bring items to sell & the yard sale will be open to anyone to come shop. This is a great time to just come check out the retreat house & see what fun we have if you're thinking about attending a future retreat. It's also a great time to get some bargain supplies. You would be surprised at what some of our ladies can clean out of their rooms. I know I still have some goodies I've been holding on to just to sell at the yard sale. Remember one person's "junk" is another person's "treasure".
Our June retreat currently has 5 openings. Don't hesitate, these will be gone soon!

Retreat Recipes
After the last retreat several of you asked for some of our recipes. Below are two of our favorites.
Breakfast Quiche
This recipe makes 2 quiche.
1 lb sausage
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 deep dish pie shells
1 lg can pet milk
6 eggs
1 Tbsp. self rising flour
Brown sausage & drain. Put half in each pie shell. Put 1 cup of cheese of top of each. Mix pet milk, eggs & flour together & pour half over each. Bake @ 325 for about 30 - 45 minutes. (Don’t thaw pie shells 1st & bake them on a cookie sheet) Just watch to see when it’s done.
I have made this using Jimmy Dean low fat sausage, 2% cheese & fat free pet milk & it’s just as good.
Monkey Bread
4 cans of biscuits (10/can)
½ cup sugar
2 Tbsp cinnamon
1 ½ sticks butter
1 ½ cups brown sugar
1 Tbsp cinnamon
Mix ½ cup sugar & 2 Tbsp cinnamon in a bowl or ziploc bag. Cut each biscuits in fourths. (Use a pizza cutter!) Put a few pieces in the mix & coat well. Drop in a well greased bundt pan to form a layer from each can of biscuits. After using 2 cans, mix the butter, brown sugar & cinnamon in a saucepan; heat & pour ½ on top of the layer. Continue with the other 2 cans of biscuits & then pour the remaining liquid on top. (If you want pecans, just put some on each layer with the liquid
mixture) Bake @ 350 for about 30 minutes.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A RETREAT?
In order to maximize your cropping time we suggest pre-planning your pages/projects. The large Ziploc bags work great for this...place the photos, paper, embellishments, stickers, and journaling ideas together for each layout together, you can fit several in one bag or stack the layouts on top of each other in a large plastic box.
Be sure to bring your favorite tools like your paper trimmer, cutting system, scissors, and adhesive. If you are attending with other cropping friends and feel comfortable sharing some tools, make plans to share the load, deciding who can bring what tools..
Try to consolidate your supplies...if you need to rent a U-Haul you probably have to much!! LOL
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Besides your scrapbooking supplies you will need a few other things:
Comfy clothes...casual dress is the norm ; PJ's and slippers all day are perfectly acceptable. You might want to bring a sweater if you are cold natured and/or dress in layers if you tend to be hot natured.
Ear plugs and/or Tylenol PM (very important if you are bothered by snorers) LOL
Linens...most of the beds are twin,( we will email you what size when we make the room assignments), towel and washcloth
Toiletries...soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush.
Come ready to meet new friends and have a great relaxing weekend!
